Operational Services
Operational Service Delivery
An Opcomm
consultant was appointed as the manager of a highly mobile communications
capability for the British Defence Force. Our consultant led a team of 50
specialist technical staff and communications equipment that could rapidly
deploy, world-wide, to provide communications services in support of Defence
operations. This included operations in Europe, the South Atlantic and the
Middle East. In particular our consultant was appointed as the Force
Signals Officer for Operations in Italy and Saudi Arabia and was solely
responsible for the integration of multiple detachments of Defence communicators
to provide complete in-theatre communications support. This required the
effective integration of the deployed communications services into multinational
and culturally diverse coalition forces and negotiation with civilian
telecommunications companies for the provision of enhanced services.
Operational Service Delivery
An Opcomm
consultant was responsible for aircraft weight and balance control, aircraft
loading and unloading, passenger handling and aircraft scheduling. Our
consultant supervised 12 staff operating on a difficult 24 hour shift roster.
During this project, our consultant managed the air lift of all ADF equipment to
the Gulf war, was responsible for air movements at the major hub airport during
the 1990 pilot strike and introduced improved working practices made possible by
new facilities. Our consultant also initiated the acquisition of funds to double
glaze windows, redesign facilities and introduce mechanical handling devices.
This program reduced hearing loss claims by staff and addressed significant
occupational safety hazards.
Operational Service Delivery
An Opcomm
consultant was responsible for the supervision of 27 staff supporting 800
maintenance and manufacturing personnel at a major aircraft servicing and
construction facility. Our consultant was accountable for in excess of $1.2
Billion in assets under management and managed annual equipment and
discretionary spare parts budgets of over $200 Million. During this
project, our consultant introduced an automated system to allow technical staff
to check the status of critical spares shortages and high priority replenishment
activities, contributed to the unit winning the prestigious Hawker Siddeley
Trophy for efficiency, and rationalised complex processes for aircraft and
component transfers between distributed business units.
